Prepare the pitch
Ensure the pitch is safe, playable and the goals are erected correctly and the nets are securely fastened. It is always wise to make a full inspection of the pitch and remove anything that may be unsafe.

40min prior to kick off (if away team) – manager arrival
Arrival of Players – 35min Prior to Kick off
Players should arrive at the location and coach should great each player
Coach should check players for correct footwear, shin pads and ensure no jewellery is worn
Pre Match Warm Up
The opening stage of the session must last around 5/8min. The warm up should include an activity to raise the pulse rate (jogging/skipping/ running forward/backwards), a mix of static (standing) and dynamic (on the move) stretches.
Passing Activation
This stage of the warm up should last around 8mins and allow for players to get used to receiving, controlling and passing the football.
Possession Drill
This stage allows for the players to be in the mindset ready for the start of the game and includes possession game related drill. This should last around 8mins
Announce team
Announce the starting team to the players
Provide clear match day objectives and individual player objectives
Half Time/Full Time
Provide players with positive messages of what went well during the game
As a coach, take time to reflect and structure next weeks training session based on reflection.
